Gold leather envelops objects
ALESSANDRA BELTRAME
By wrapping selected objects in gold leather, encountered randomly throughout her life, the artist erases all objective individuality and integrates them into a gilded uniformity, like fragments of an unpublished story. Sociopolitical or identifiable references inevitably emerge. However, this would be a reduced, if not misleading interpretation. The artist weaves a path of shifts, pushing perception beyond the secure boundaries of the familiar, allowing viewers to formulate an alternative interpretation of the illusion of reality.
