The work must be different
from the artist

This project is a new work I started during my residency at CTRL+SHFT. I used the room as an experimental structure, as a kind of "film set," as a home, and as a working studio.

THE WORK MUST BE DIFFERENT FROM THE ARTIST

is a project of research and reflection that investigates the difference between the artwork and the artist. The everyday act of dressing and undressing was ritualized through a simple, repetitive movement and recorded on video.

For four weeks, I worked in a defined space resembling a cell, illuminated only by artificial light—like a long night without day. She used the studio as an experimental structure, creating within it a kind of film set, a workspace, and a home.

Within the installation, real objects intermingle with fictional ones (created by the artist), blurring the boundary between reality and fiction.
