Rifugio D'Amore

In the Friulian language and in the Swiss-German dialect, the expression I love you does not exist.

Rifugio D`Amore is a “double bed” constructed from grass gathered at the site and dried on old drying racks. From one of my grandmother’s sheets I made the pyjamas, which I sewed on site, while on the other sheet I transcribed interviews conducted with several couples.

The questions, concerning their personal love stories, were the same for everyone:

  1. How did you meet?

  2. How old were you?

  3. What did you find fascinating about the other person?

  4. If you had to choose a refuge of love, where would it be?

  5. Do you still love each other?
